Welcome

...to Leamington Rugby Club and congratulations to you on choosing a sport and club that truly does offer Friendship, Fun and Fitness. I started mini-rugby at age 7, some 37 years ago, and last year was the first season I haven’t played – so now I want to give something back to the sport that has helped me in all aspects of life and the club that helped me want to stay and settle in Leamington.

Yes we do play rugby, from tag rugby through to the full contact game. However, more importantly, especially at the Youth level, we want to help you develop skill that will help you in all aspects of life in a fun and friendly environment. Rugby is played at all ages from 6 upwards, so we understand that everyone, girls and boys, will develop at different speeds, therefore, we are inclusive of everyone and will give everyone the ability to learn and play the game.

Leamington Rugby Club is at the forefront of the latest developments in Rugby and is working with the English RFU to encourage greater involvement by more and more youth players in a safe and structured way as such we also fully support the RFU five key principles of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline & Sportmanship, which you will see in evidence with every age group every weekend throughout the season.

We also greatly encourage your parents as well to come along and see how at the Youth level, rugby is very much a social family sport. With the Rugby World Cup this October why not come along to learn more about Rugby so you can support your national team and also have some fun. I encourage you to take your first step to what I hope will become a great rugby future and a step you’ll never regret. So I’m pleased to invite you to come along, to see what you think and give this great sport a try.
