MINIS TOUR - U8 & U11s WINNERS OF FESTIVAL PLATES |

A great weekend was had by all who toured Yorkshire. Saturday's rain was replaced by glorious early Spring sunshine at the prestigious Doncaster festival. What a great day and what a setting! Whilst touring isn't all about winning, it was great to see the U8s come away as winners of the plate competition after narrowly losing a couple of early matches. They beat Doncaster 6-3 in the U8s Plate Final with scores from Cameron Mitchell (2)
Drew Sinnott (2) Ollie Milner and Joe Davison who was Man of the Match.
Meanwhile the U11s battled through to the play-offs were they produced strong performances against Cleethorpes (Won 40-0) tries from Harvey Innocent,Charlie Stevens(3), Sam Wadsworth, George Morley(3) and Chesterfield Tigers (30-0) tries from George Morley, Stan Valentine(3), Charlie Stevens(2). U11's ended the day as Plate Winners, all the more impressive was that two of the games were played one man down!
The U9s got off to a great start with 25-0 win over Selby. Tries were scored by Louis, Harry, Josh, Edward and Callum. A 10-0 win against Sheffield was then followed by a win over tough Doncaster 5-0. This ensured Leamington progressed to the Semis were they played Lymm. They went a try behind but Leamington equalised through a try from Maxwell. The final result was 5-5 but unfortunately for Leamington the rules stated that the first try scoring side progressed to the final. Heartbreak - not progressing to the final and yet remaining unbeaten all day!
