The season's big local derby was played out at The Crofts on Sunday morning as Leamington RFC Minis visited their near neighbours Old Leamingtonians. OLs struck first at U7s level with a 30-25 victory with tries for Leamington from Louis Harvey (2), Aaron Crockford (2) and debutant Jayden Yurkwich-ell. Leamington however bounced back to secure a 20-10 win second time around with tries from Will Callan (2), Araz Mizaras and Jonny Ley. Leamington triumphed in all three matches at U8, 30-20, 55-30 and 40-30 respectively. Try scorers for Leamington were Drew Sinnott (6), Thomas Griffiths (4), Ollie Milner (4), Joe Davison (3), Robbie Foster (3), Harry Lummis (2), Xavier Adkins (2) and Charlie Wiggin. The U9s opened with a hard fought 5-5 draw which Leamington followed with two victories 25-5 and 20-0 and the U10s also started with 30-0 victory with tries from Kieran Curran, Marcus Bourne(2) and a Lewis Jackson hat trick. OLs then hit back to exact revenge with their own 30-0 victory before winning a final encounter 25-10 as Scott Bullock and Will Gibson crossed for Leamington. Turnover ball proved crucial at U12 level as Jamie Walker dived in for two crucial tries that were converted to give OLs the spoils with a 14-0 victory. Leamington proved dominant in a second encounter but failed to cross the whitewash in highly competitive 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile the U15s took on a strong Sutton outfit and preformed exceptionally well. (Sutton beat Kenilworth 72-0) Sam Ackers scored from a 5m lineout against the run of play for the first. Rich McKowen scored before half time and so Leam trailed 10-14 at the interval. A final Mark Lennon try wasn't quite enough as Sutton had 3 converted tries and it ended Leamington 15 - Sutton Coldfield 21.
