Sunday saw the visit of Harbury RFC minis to Moorefields to take on their neighbours from Leamington. Honours proved even at U7 level where three matches yeilded a win a piece and a thrilling draw. Harbury triumphed initially 40-35 as Louis Harvey (3), Tom Treharne (2), Alfie West, Jonny Ley, Jake Rubio and Araz Mizaras crossed for the home team. A subsequent 40-40 draw was followed by a 30-15 Leamington victory with tries for Leamington from player of the match William Callan (5), Aaron Crockford (3), Joseph Higginson, Kathryn Jolly, Lucian Gould and on debut from Ben Staley. An initial 35-35 draw for the u8s was followed by two Leamington victories 40-35 and 40-30 respectively. Try scorers for Leamington were led by Drew Sinnott who crossed an amazing 10 times during the course of the morning, Ollie Milner (4), Robert Sharpe (4), Robbie Foster (3) and Harry Lummis (2). Harbury U12s however left with the spoils following a 21-7 victory. Leamington led 7-0 at half time following a try from Adam Biddlecombe which Joe Taylor converted. Leamington's defensive rearguard continued in the second half as Harbury finally turned pressure into points to score three unanswered tries after the interval.
Meanwhile, Leamington U15s played at Stoke Old Boys in some of the worst conditions of this or probably any other season. Having said that, both sides tried to put on a show of running rugby. Leamington were asleep in the first half and quickly went 22 - 0. After an inspirational captain's speech Leamington came back strongly after the break with two tries from Mark Lennon and Billy Cox (converted by Rich McKowen. They had a lpase in defensive concentration on their goal line and conceeded a try when the game was in the balance. Stoke Old Boys 34 - Leamington 12. Man of the match Sam Ackers.
