U17s SQUEEZE OUT COVENTRY DUNLOP |

This was the only fixture to survive the weather after Syston called off the U15s match. Leamington U17s got their 2010 campaign underway with a solid start. Dunlop started the game with energy and pace, storming into the lead with a fine try. After those initial few minutes of attacking play Dunlop spent the rest of the match defending, which they did very well. The Leamington pack applied pressure throughout the rest of the game but were unable to crack the home defence for what would have been well-deserved tries.
So no tries, but the pressure provided other opportunities and James Hassall was able to capitalise on them with a penalty in each half to win the game for Leamington.
A solid performance from the pack and effective tackling from the entire team stifled any threat from Dunlop.
Good performances from Brad James, Chris Feggins, Ed McEwen, Poggy, Vanya and Marco.
Final Score: Coventry Dunlop 5; Leamington 6
A well deserved win. |
