News title: MINIS TOUR HUGE SUCCESS (21-22 March 09)
News date: 22 March 2009
News description: The Mini Section headed off to the far off lands of Oxford for a very
successful 2009 Tour. On the Saturday we were welcomed by Drifters RFC and had some excellent fixtures in all age groups. Leamington gained victories
at all age groups (Under 9s to Under 12s), but most importantly the matches
were all close and played in the right spirit. Drifters then laid on a
superb BBQ which was most appreciated by everyone. The Dads then attempted
to show their children a little bit of magic with ball in hand by playing an
exhilarating game of touch (or nearly touch) rugby. The good news ........
there were no injuries. The bad news ........ the magic was not so good. The
kids probably did not learn a lot from the display.

We managed to while the afternoon away watching the final round of matches
of the Six Nations with a couple of beers, and feeling increasingly sorry
for the Welsh before heading for our beds at the luxurious Oxford YHA.

Sunday involved a leisurely drive to Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds, where
we met up with the Under 7s and Under 8s. Again the welcome was excellent
and the rugby proved tough. The Under 11s came across a very robust team
from Chippy and ended up as the losing side. Apart from this, the tourists
were unbeaten on the Sunday. An excellent performance.

All in all the tour was great fun and really helped to bond all the players,
coaches and parents from the differnet age groups in the Minis section. A
speacial mention needs to go to Karen Bobath who did a magnificnet job in
pulling the Tour together.
